Suffers on its own because of the terrible acting, subpar CGI and unimpressive setting. Worse though comes when you compare it to the first film, because it completely lacks everything that made the original _Starship Troopers_ enjoyable. You see I love tropes, they are what makes genres what they are... and Starship Troopers 2 is full of tropes... ... the problem is that they don't add anything to the genre. It's not the low budget, the setting is exactly what you would expect from a low budget Sci-Fi flick. It's not the acting, they actually do a good job. It's not even the Fx. The problem is that it doesn't add anything...
