Tora! Tora! Tora! és el senyal japonès per atacar. La pel·lícula reprodueix de manera meticulosa l'atac a Pearl Harbor i tots els fets que el van precedir. Les primeres escenes ens mostren les diferències entre les dues postures: per una banda els imperialistes japonesos decideixen fer un atac per etapes, per altra banda els alts comandaments de l'exèrcit americà ignoren aquesta possibilitat. Tot i que alguns missatges interceptats als japonesos advertien d'aquest perill, aquests mai no van arribar a les mans de l'alta comandància de l'exèrcit americà. Els avisos dels radars són ignorats, fins i tot la caça d'un submarí japonès a Pearl Harbor abans de l'atac no es reporta.

First off, this is a very good historical fictionalization of an epic event. Many parts are very accurate whereas others are more or less. This is after all a Hollywood movie, NOT a documentary such as "The World At War", so we can't be too critical about perfect accuracy. I remember viewing this film as a kid shortly after it came out in Sweden. At that time I was not impressed. I was expecting an action filled war movie and what I got was a boring movie where the good guys got beaten up at the end.
