This is a deeply silly movie and while it has the same heart as Sharknado it does have a few more bright spots and therefore isn't quite as cringe-worthy. The casting is pretty much on par for something like this and while some lines are delivered very woodedly and some of the effects look like they are coming out of a pre-purchased effects pack, the movie isn't that bad, all things considered.
