This is found footage with the occasional musical score to add to the tension.
It's also a movie about people in a jungle that jump at jungle noises presumably because they are assuming that a jungle is going to be as peaceful and silent at night as small Illinois town over the Christmas holiday? Or maybe they were just expecting honks and beeps, sirens, and not animals?
