Després d'estudiar durant anys a França, la Selma obre la seva pròpia consulta psiquiàtrica en un popular suburbi de Tunis, just després de la revolució social i política de la Primavera Àrab. Haurà de tractar amb pacients nous i adaptar-se als problemes ocasionats per les seves diferències culturals, retrobant-se amb un passat que creia haver deixat enrere.
