Tripp Kennedy entra tranquil·lament en una sucursal bancària poc abans de l'hora de tancament, just en el moment en què dues bandes diferents coincideixen per casualitat amb intenció cadascuna de fer un atracament. Es produeix un tiroteig i Tripp s'abalança sobre una maca caixera, Kaitlin, per protegir-la. Les dues bandes, una composta clarament per professionals i l'altra formada per un parell d'aficionats, estan estancades en un punt mort.
